If I Love…Cosmetics had their way, we’d update our bathroom shelf as much as we did our wardrobe. Now that we think of it, they’re not too far off. The cheeky beauty company was founded in 2008 by creative director James Brown and Mike Basso. Since then, the Manchester-based brand has expanded globally and is constantly rolling out new products, from lush body butters to decadent bath treats. The aim has always been to connect with consumer’s everyday lives by designing fun, functional, fragrant products that evoke memories of refreshment and indulgence, says Brown.
The brand is best known for good-enough-to-eat products like its trademark Shower Smoothies, which are body-softening cleansers that come in flavours like mango & papaya or blueberry & smoothie. Sparkle fans that we are, we’re also addicted to their Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss, which has a non-sticky formula and subtle glimmer.
For a quick pick-me-up, I Love…Cosmetics has a range of one-time-use Face Masks that nourish skin with natural fruit extracts. In addition to being suited for all skin types, they’re ideal for travel—just in time for the holiday madness!
The company has already has plenty of news this year, from their patriotic Best of British limited edition (what better way to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee?) to festive gift sets. But what we’re most excited about is their brand-new sister brand, Balmi.
They’ve taken their fun meets function approach to lipcare with Balmi, a line of delightfully spherical balms. Each is loaded with vitamin E, shea butter, jojoba oil, and SPF 15 to keep skin hydrated and protected. Unlike pots, which can be unhygienic, the Balmi comes in a cute rubberized ball that you just apply directly to your lips. Fruity flavours like Coconut and Blackcurrant ensure that lips smell as good as they feel. We love them and we’re in good company.
